Fray Bernard Amparado, OAR is new Prior Provincial-elect
The 8th Provincial Chapter being convened here in Cebu City has spoken!
During the first session in the afternoon today, 17th of May 2022, FRAY BERNARD CAÑADA AMPARADO, OAR has been elected as the eighth Prior Provincial of the Province of St. Ezekiel Moreno for the next term of office. Congratulations!
The 60-year old Prior Provincial-elect was born on February 4, 1962. He hails from Minglanilla, Cebu City. He made his simple profession of vows on June 11, 1983 at Seminario Mayor-Recoletos in Baguio City. He was ordained a priest on October 3, 1987 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Parish-Recoletos in Cebu City. Before this election, Fray Amparado was the local prior and rector of the Casiciaco Recoletos Seminary in Baguio City, and a professor of philosophy subjects in the said institution.
For last 38 years as a religious and 34 years as a priest, Father Bernard has lived and worked in the following Recollect communities:

It is everyone’s hope and prayer that being “the principal driving force for the renewal of the province” (OAR Const. 404), Father Bernard may lead the brothers to become ever more faithful to their consecration and mission as Augustinian Recollects especially during these challenging times.
